A snapshot of guest ratings and stories behind the stay.
“The hotel is pretty nice, although it does feel a bit dated. The view was amazing, the staff was friendly, and the location was definitely the highlight of our stay. We were in town for an event downtown, and thanks to the new bridge, getting there was easy. However, traffic around the area is pretty bad right now because of all the construction. Hopefully, it will improve once the project is completed. The only downside was the bed—it was incredibly hard, almost like sleeping on a rock. Other than that, we had a good stay.”
“The food at the buffet and restaurants was really good and everyday the food was consistently well prepared. The rooms were a nice size even though the decor was dated but the rooms themselves are maintained very well. The location was just of the hotel zone strip but was still pretty close to all the action. The service at this resort was top tier. The overall vibe of this resort is a more calm and relaxing atmosphere. Just beware of this resort not being the typical “turn up” Cancun resort. Very quiet and tranquil if that’s your vibe.”
“The best resort. I am Holiday Inn Club Vacation owner and this my new home away from home. The rooms are top notch extremely clean. Shout out Sorroco our maid. She went over and above her duties! The rest of the staff amazing. The beach is so beautiful with white sand and emerald colored water. The pool bar staff so attentive and always there for you. Thanks guys second time here in 2026 will be back in October 2026.”
“We had a really good stay at Royal Sands overall. The location is excellent, the beach is beautiful, the pools are a big plus, and the grounds are very well kept. Our room was clean and clearly cared for, and the kids’ club was a standout. The teachers were great and made it easy to feel comfortable leaving the kids there. The water park was also really great. The resort also felt like a solid value for the price. Like many all-inclusive resorts, the food was fine but not the main reason to go. That said, the experience was mostly positive and family-friendly, and we’d be happy to return. The only real downsides were some maintenance issues. The fridge made an obnoxious screeching noise, and it didn’t get fixed on the initial call and I had to call a second time. We also noticed the main CO and smoke detector had no battery in it, which was concerning and should have been caught sooner. Overall, Royal Sands is a strong choice if you want a clean, well-kept beachfront resort with good pools, a great kids’ club, and decent value. (My final star rating is based on comparable properties. We paid $1,100 for 4 nights of an all inclusive, and this was a 5 star experience for that cost.)”
